Mission, Vision & Commitment
Our Mission
To raise healthy, high-quality farm-raised quail through responsible, hands-on care — and to produce exceptional quail eggs, pickled quail eggs, and quail meat products that meet the highest standards of food safety, quality, and flavor. We serve breeders, homesteaders, small farms, and food enthusiasts with reliable stock and products produced entirely from our own coveys.
Our Vision
To become one of the most trusted quail farms in Texas, recognized for the integrity of our breeding practices, the quality of the Grand Covey™ quail product line, and our commitment to educating customers while supporting the growing quail farming community across San Jacinto County and beyond.
Our Commitment
Strict biosecurity, sanitation, and contamination prevention — no exceptions. The health and safety of our coveys is built around sound operating procedures for every area of our operation: Aviary, Cage, Hatching Eggs, Pickled Eggs, Quail Meat, and Quail Products. We do not cut corners, and we do not compromise.
Our CoreValues & Principles
Everything we do at Enchanted Creek Acres is guided by a clear set of principles — values that shape how we raise our birds, produce our food, and serve our customers.
01.
Ethical Breeding Practices
Our birds are carefully selected for strong genetics, vitality, and productivity. Our coveys are raised in clean aviary environments designed to support healthy quail breeding programs and responsible bird welfare.
02.
100% Own-Farm Sourcing
All of our quail products originate from our own coveys — every egg, every bird, every batch. We do not source from outside farms. What goes into our Grand Covey™ products comes exclusively from what we raise right here on our property.
03.
Transparency & Customer Education
We believe in educating our customers so they can feel confident in the birds and products they receive. Whether you are a first-time quail keeper or an experienced breeder, we are here to share knowledge and support your success.
04.
Uncompromising Food Safety
The safety and quality of our food are a top priority. Every product is handled, stored, and prepared in accordance with state and federal food safety standards — from NPIP certification to our Texas Food Manufacturing License and USDA FSIS compliance.
05.
Community & Wildlife Stewardship
We are proud members of the American Coturnix Breeders of America, the Texas Quail & Covey Club, and active supporters of Gear Up for Game Wardens — a citizen initiative advancing the capabilities of Texas Parks & Wildlife Game Wardens.
The Story of Enchanted Creek Acres
A family farm built from the ground up — driven by passion, shaped by hard work, and guided by a deep respect for the land and the birds in our care.
The Beginning
A Passion Takes Root
Enchanted Creek Acres was founded on a genuine passion for quail. Twila and Ray set out to build something different — a farm where every bird is raised with purpose and every product is made with care, located deep in the heart of Sam Houston National Forest in San Jacinto County, Texas.
Building the Coveys
Selecting Our Breeds
The ECA coveys were carefully assembled from the most productive and genetically sound quail breeds available — Jumbo Coturnix, Texas A&M, Blue Celadon, Jumbo Pearl Fee, and Black Coturnix Quail. Each breed was chosen for its genetics, vitality, and contribution to both egg production and meat quality.
Certification & Compliance
Earning Our Credentials
ECA pursued and earned full compliance across every dimension of our operation — NPIP certification (TX 74-4827), AI Clean designation, Texas Food Manufacturing License, Licensed Texas Game Bird Breeder status (License 800701098040), and USDA FSIS compliance for all packaged meat products.
The Grand Covey™ Brand
A Brand is Born
Grand Covey™ Brand became the pride of Enchanted Creek Acres. Grand — sweeping in ambition or conception. Covey — a community of quail. The brand represents a robust lineup of pickled quail eggs in eight bold flavors, an artisan honey collection, and whole quail meat products — all produced from our own coveys.
Expanding the Farm
French Black Copper Marans & BCM Services
ECA expanded into heritage poultry with the introduction of French Black Copper Marans — a breed known for calm temperament, strong genetics, and the iconic deep chocolate-brown eggs they produce. Our Grand BCM Services now offers farm-fresh Marans eggs, fertilized hatching eggs, and healthy day-old chicks to buyers across the region.
Community & Industry
Growing Our Roots
Today, Enchanted Creek Acres holds Professional Membership with the American Coturnix Breeders of America, active membership in the Texas Quail & Covey Club, and proudly supports Gear Up for Game Wardens in partnership with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation.
